Resume Matcher ("the extension") helps you compare your resume to a job posting and generate cover letters and tailored resumes. This policy explains what data we handle and how.
What we collect
- Account: when you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and a user ID to create your account and apply your plan.
- Resume & job text you act on: when you run Match, Cover letter, or Tailor, the text of your selected resume and the job posting on your active tab are sent to our server and our AI provider to generate the result.
- Usage records: we log that an action ran (type, timestamp, token count) to enforce plan limits. We do not store your resume or job text on our servers.
- Payment: subscriptions are processed by our payment provider; we never receive or store your card details.
- Optional analytics: anonymous, aggregated product events (e.g. "generate"). No resume content, job content, or email is included.
Stored on your device only
Your saved resumes, match history, and preferences are stored locally in your browser (chrome.storage) and are not uploaded to our servers.
How we use it
- To generate the analysis, cover letter, or tailored resume you request.
- To authenticate you and enforce free/paid plan limits.
- To operate, secure, and improve the product.
Third parties
- Supabase — authentication and backend hosting.
- Anthropic (Claude) — AI processing of the text you submit. Not used to train models.
- Dodo Payments — subscription billing (Merchant of Record).
- PostHog — optional product analytics, if enabled.
Permissions
The extension reads the text of the job page on your active tab only when you click an action, so it can compare it to your resume. It does not track your browsing.
Data retention & your rights
Usage records are kept while your account is active. Resume/job text is processed transiently to produce a result and is not retained on our servers. You can clear local data anytime by removing your resumes/history in the extension or uninstalling it. To delete your account or request data removal, email us.
